NJ Massage and Bodywork Therapy Licensing Act
UPDATE – April 2009. The New Jersey Massage and Bodywork Therapy Licensing Board has been appointed by Governor Corzine. According to the NJ Chapter of AMTA: “It will take a considerable amount of time, perhaps even up to a year for this body to get organized and establish the new rules and regulations that will govern the Massage and Bodywork Licensing regulation, prior to applications being called for. We will inform you when it is time to begin to seek and file your licensing applications.”
Major Changes:
- On January 13th, 2008, Governor Corzine signed bill A4455/S2536 into law, which amends the current voluntary certification to require mandatory licensing for all NJ massage therapists
